For this exhibition Yael presents a selection of recent work in three
separate but related areas: fibre art and painting, artist's books and
printmaking (etching and linocut). The works follow the theme of process
of change in form and situation. Sometimes this is achieved in a series
of works.
One of the connections between the works in the different media
is recycling. For the fibre art
Yael uses found fabric as a basis for painting and etching. Similarly,
the artist's books comprise old carte de visite albums and photographs
with added etching and occasionally fabric. Yael is showing
representative pieces together from her practice because of their
interrelatedness. The separate but related areas of work form an
interesting combination to
showcase reused and found objects inspired by natural processes of
growth and change.
The exhibition runs from Wednesday 5 to Monday 10 November 2014. Open Monday to Friday 10am-6pm.
The private view will be Thursday 6 November, 6-8pm.
